This course is mandatory for obtaining your initial CCW (Concealed Carry Weapon) License. Topics include safety, marksmanship, liabilities, stance, statistics, the path to choosing a defensive handgun and caliber combination, and much more. This course includes a written and shooting evaluation and is our basic level defensive handgun course. This is offered at least twice a month. Class time will allow for 1 Handgun to be qualified. To qualify additional handguns, please look to the CCW Handgun Qualification Class. CCW course is good for Kern and Riverside counties.

  • Class Dates and Times:
    October 3-4, 2023 – 6pm – 10pm
    October 16-17, 2023 – 6pm – 10pm
    November 4, 2023 – 8am – 5pm
    November 20-21, 2023 – 6pm – 10pm

WHAT TO BRING TO THE COURSE – (Available at your local Turner’s Outdoorsman, adjacent to the The Training Center)
1. Handgun
2. 50 Rounds of Range Approved Ammo, Per Handgun
3. Eye and Ear Protection (Electric Style Preferred)
4. Holster (On A Belt)
5. Two or More Magazines or Speed Loader For Revolvers

    Robert and Tony did an excellent job providing the necessary information to obtain the CCW license. I very much appreciated their detailed explanations as to the responsibilities and considerations that come with conceal carrying and gun ownership as a whole. In addition to the valuable information, they’ve opened my eyes as to how much there is still to learn. I look forward to educating myself further and plan on registering for more classes with them in the near future.
